Belt Rock Washer and Sediment Collector

Our goal was to create a prototype of a rock washer using an Arduino Uno, Servos, and a Motor. The rock washer was made by a team and I to let rocks out of the hopper onto the belt and then rinse the rocks with water. The water would then be tested for the darkness of the water to see how dirty it is. The belt and water would run until the water ran clean and then drop off the rocks in a container.

I designed the water splitter, nozzles, roller, and motor mount in SolidWorks for this project. I also worked to make the water system and make it so the hopper only dropped rocks on the belt. We also all worked on nearly everything else as a team troubleshooting and designing how to catch the water for analysis and dispose of it as well as how to turn the rocks. The brush was for turning the rocks so we could get all sides as we were washing them.
